Business Incubation as a Service

Jump start for a new strategic core competence

The demands on companies in terms of flexibility and agility are increasing dramatically. Whether it is the digitization of the business model, the conversion of the company to a more sustainable business, but also short-term reactions to geopolitical changes, crisis situations or distortions in sales and procurement markets, all these challenges require new strategic competencies in the company.

A strategic core competence is reluctant to be left up to third parties. It is too important for the company in the medium and long term and ultimately outsourcing is too expensive in the flexibility required and with constantly changing requirements. The core challenge is therefore to deploy these strategic competencies quickly and with the necessary operating power and capacity within the company. This includes not only the appropriate type and amount of experts, but also procedures, tools, data and, if necessary, even partner networks.

Business Incubation builds a bridge to master this balancing act. Business Incubation is a managed service that allows companies to purchase a ready-to-use "engine room" for a new strategic corporate function while developing internal expertise. Based on the respective customer requirements, the specialized provider is able to equip the engine room with the necessary elements (personnel, tools, etc.) at short notice, on a turnkey basis and to start operational business operations. At the same time, the development of the corporate function is being proceeded. The partner supports the definition of the target processes, the integration into the company, the recruitment of experts and their enablement. With the increasing development of the internal function, the incubation service provider gradually withdraws over time until the final handover to the customer takes place after a stable operation of the new function.

Companies benefit significantly from the business incubation model, as they can (re)act at very short notice and at the same time build up internal competencies. On the one hand, it saves time and money, reduces the risks for companies and, on the other hand, it increases organizational clout in the medium and long term. The model proves to be particularly valuable – not only related to the current occasions – for functions in the area of business continuity and security, but also for new strategic fields of action in the areas of sales, purchasing, corporate development and R&D.
