Georg Fahrenschon

Georg Fahrenschon Chairman of the Advisory Board

In 2019, the Former Minister of State Georg Fahrenschon became Director and Chief Representative at WTS. Georg supports WTS in its growth activities in Germany and Europe with business development and strategic alliances. He serves Beceptum in the role of Chairman of the Advisory Board, providing expertise in the fields of Financial Institutions, Investment & Funding Business and Political Affairs.

After joining ‘ARF-Gesellschaft für Organisationsberatung’ in 1999 and, in 2000, working for the ‘Bayerische Landesbank’, Fahrenschon transitioned into the sphere of politics in 2002. Beginning his political career as an elected member of the German Bundestag he  served for the following five years; first as a member of the Finance Committee and later as a member of the Budget Committee.

In 2007, he was appointed as State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance in the Bavarian State Government and from 2008 to 2011 he served as Bavarian State Minister of Finance. During this period Georg was also a deputy member of the Federalism Commission II and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Federal Council. From 2012 to 2017 he was appointed as President of the German Savings Banks and Giro Association (DSGV) e.V., the largest banking association in Europe.

Georg has held several positions as chairman of the supervisory or administrative board of various banks and financial service providers, member of the boards of directors of numerous public and development banks, as well as other state and non-state companies. In these positions, he frequently headed the corresponding Presidential-, Nomination-, Audit-, Risk- and Credit Committees of institutions. Additionally, throughout his career, Georg has been responsible for the successful restructuring and strategic positioning of several companies.

Arnd Thorn

Arnd Thorn Member of the Advisory Board

Arnd Thorn is Managing Partner of Thorn Vermögensverwaltung GmbH. He is also a member of several domestic and foreign supervisory bodies. He serves Beceptum in the role of Advisory Board Member, providing expertise in the fields of Financial Architectures and Investment Business.

In his previous role, Arnd was CEO of the FERI Group and a member of the board responsible for national and international institutional business; beginning in 2005 and holding the position of Chairman of the Board from 2011 to 2019.

After his international studies in business administration, he was responsible for finance in various companies. Beginning in 1989, he was responsible for asset management and investment banking at Commerzbank AG, where he was a member of the global management board.

Following his position as spokesman for the management board of ADIG, Arnd served at Allianz as CEO of PIMCO Germany and in the European Sales business area. In addition to his management positions at DIT, AGI-Germany and Europe, he has also been a member of various supervisory boards of the Allianz Group and other institutions.

Dr. Marco Miklis

Dr. Marco Miklis Co-Founder and Member of the Advisory Board

After 20 years of experience in the aerospace and defence industry, Marco co-founded Beceptum in autumn of 2019. As a member of the Advisory Board, he assists Beceptum in its business development and international expansion.

Marco had held various international leadership positions within EADS/Airbus Group. From 2013 onwards he had been acting as Head of Region for the Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia regions and within this function he was a member of the Airbus Group International Committee. Amongst his focus areas were the management of Airbus’ infrastructure along with the set-up of integrated country entities (One Roof Initiative), leadership of public affairs and communication activities, management of business partners, driving key sales campaigns and development of regional industrial partnerships. During his tenure in this position Marco made it a priority to reassess and revamp country strategies for the regional key countries such as: Russia, Turkey, Poland and Israel and to leverage innovation, R&T, digitalization and sourcing.

From 2010 - 2012 Marco lead the EADS CEO office in Munich, while acting as the General Secretary for EADS Deutschland GmbH. Between 2000 and 2009, he held various management positions within EADS/Airbus Group, in particular in corporate development and political engineering functions.

Since 2014 he is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the ISEC 7 Group AG, an independent global provider of enterprise mobility solutions.

Marco studied economics and in 2003, he completed his PhD with a summa cum laude adistinction from the Carl von Ossietzky University zu Oldenburg.

Marc Zinkel

Marc Zinkel Co-Founder and Managing Director

With more than 20 years of professional experience in management consulting and management roles, Marc Zinkel is a founding partner and managing director of Beceptum. Marc is focused on supporting customers in strategic and operational expansion management, business development as well as developing financing constructs and managed investment funds.

Before founding Beceptum, Marc was Partner with KPMG, heading the managed service business. As managing director of Coventor Consulting he advised service providers and service units of large corporates regarding design, management and optimization of services. As vice president of the captive shared service provider of the Allianz Group he was responsible for the global expansion and corporate development as well as the transfer of corporate functions from operating entities. He started his career with IT Management Consulting with Capgemini and Accenture, resulting in his final role there as head of IT Shared Service and Outsourcing Strategy for German speaking countries. During his career Marc managed projects in almost 20 countries across Europe, Asia and North America.

Marc studied business administration in Passau. He is married and the proud father of three kids.

Tobias Zech

Tobias Zech Co-Founder and Managing Director

With more than 20 years of management experience in administration, politics and industry, Tobias Zech is a founding member and managing director of Beceptum.  Tobias supports the customers in set-up and execution of international business operations, business model development, shaping corporate sales structures as well as in the management of challenging eco-systems.

Before Beceptums’s founding in autumn 2019, Tobias was Senior Manager in the Strategy and International Department at Airbus Group. From 2013 to 2017, when Tobias was elected as a member of the German Bundestag, he served as a member of the Committee on Labour and Social Affairs, where he was rapporteur for several laws. As member of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development he was rapporteur, inter alia, for the refugee crisis in the Middle East, due to the civil war in Syria.

On international level, Tobias was member of the German delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), where he was Vice-Chairman of the EPP Group, Chairman of Sub-Committee on the Europe Prize and a member of committees including:

  • Committee on Political Affairs
  • Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination and Democracy

At PACE he was rapporteur for two reports: “The situation in Lebanon and challenges for regional stability and European security” and “Promoting the inclusion of Roma and Travellers”.

Before his political career in the German Bundestag, in 2009 he began at EADS/Airbus, Munich, in the office of the Chief Human Resources Officer, overseeing of the demographic change of the company, among other duties. He then became the Commercial Manager of the Ludwig Bölkow Campus for Space, Aerospace and Security; a high-tech innovation incubator with international companies and projects ranging from materials science to artificial intelligence. In 2012 he became manager for export support in the strategy and marketing organization of EADS/Airbus.

Since 2002 he has been a member of the municipal council of Garching an der Alz and since 2013, a member of the county council of the district Altötting. From 2002 to 2010 Tobias was regular soldier in the eighth mountain engineer battalion in Brannenburg.

Tobias studied business administration in Munich and holds professional certification in design thinking and regional development. He has been awarded the the Cross of Honour of the Bundeswehr in 2008 and the Hungarian Knight's Cross in 2017.

Olaf Sass Senior Manager

Bringing many years of experience in Cybersecurity and Professional Services, Olaf Sass joined Beceptum at the beginning of 2020. As Senior Manager he is responsible for complete project leads primarily in fields with a technological background. In addition, he provides support on the topics of business development, strategic consulting and sales strategies.

Before joining Beceptum, Olaf worked for four years as Manager of Cybersecurity at Capgemini and was lead of Managed Security Services DACH. For 3 years he was the IT-Security Officer at ProSieben Sat1, where he established an Information Security unit, with all security related items including ISO 27k, SOC, pentesting and awareness. Prior to that Olaf was Senior Manager at a mid-sized consulting firm, where he was responsible for large carve-out/integration projects connected to IT-Infrastructure.

Olaf studied political affairs in Munich, speaks German and English fluently. He holds several additional professional certificates, in particular the CISSP. While born in Dortmund, for the past 30 years he has lived in Munich, where is married and has two children.

Szabina Altsach

Szabina Altsach Project Manager

After several years of experience with international politics, Szabina Altsach is active at Beceptum in the fields of strategic consulting, project development, international development assistance, stakeholder mapping and public diplomacy.

Before joining Beceptum in autumn 2019, Szabina worked for two years as Project Coordinator for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, based in Beirut, Lebanon, focusing on Syria and Iraq. Prior she was a foreign policy advisor for a member of parliament at the German Bundestag in Berlin and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. In these positions she was responsible for foreign policy and development cooperation.  

Szabina studied international relations, French and German in Budapest and in Montpellier, and gained her master’s degree in 2013. Born and raised in Hungary, Szabina is fluent in Hungarian, German, English and French.

Julia Grote
Project Manager

Julia Grote Project Manager

Julia Grote is responsible for international business development including market research, hands-on operational tasks, and funding. Due to her background in financial markets, she supports Beceptum in corporate and project finance mandates, including investment advisory and fundraising.

Before joining Beceptum in 2020, Julia worked at BayernLB, where she developed expertise in various areas including risk management, IFRS9, Basel III, MiFID II, loan pricing, portfolio management and bond trading. Having worked both in treasury and in structured products sales, she has a strong background in capital markets, providing experience and market insights. During her time in treasury she worked on the international project finance advisory and Green Finance, among other projects.

Julia studied philosophy, political science, and German literature in Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität) and Sheffield (UK) and gained her master’s degree in 2013.

Following graduation she joined the BayernLB cooperative undergraduate study program (Duales Studium) for business management, which included an internship in New York. In 2019 she passed the GARP Financial Risk Manager exams.

Mirjam Vogl
Project Manager

Mirjam Vogl Project Manager

At Beceptum, Mirjam Vogl is responsible for strategic management and international business development. Mirjam has extensive experience in management consulting and, in previous roles, has worked on several international assignments.

Besides Beceptum, she has been a long-time partner at GJM Management Consulting, a strategic management consultancy which advises international clients, at board and senior management levels, in developing and executing long-term plans. Before that, she worked in marketing at German Fashion company Rena Lange and at ProSieben Networks.

Mirjam studied International Business and Economics in Munich with exchange semesters in London and Madrid. Born and raised in Germany, Mirjam is fluent in German and English and has basic knowledge of French and Spanish.

Szabina Altsach Project Manager

After several years of experience with international politics, Szabina Altsach is active at Beceptum in the fields of strategic consulting, project development, international development assistance, stakeholder mapping and public diplomacy.

Julia Grote is responsible for international business development including market research, hands-on operational tasks, and funding. Due to her background in financial markets, she supports Beceptum in corporate and project finance mandates, including investment advisory and fundraising.

Before joining Beceptum in 2020, Julia worked at BayernLB, where she developed expertise in various areas including risk management, IFRS9, Basel III, MiFID II, loan pricing, portfolio management and bond trading. Having worked both in treasury and in structured products sales, she has a strong background in capital markets, providing experience and market insights. During her time in treasury she worked on the international project finance advisory and Green Finance, among other projects.

Julia studied philosophy, political science, and German literature in Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität) and Sheffield (UK) and gained her master’s degree in 2013.

Following graduation she joined the BayernLB cooperative undergraduate study program (Duales Studium) for business management, which included an internship in New York. In 2019 she passed the GARP Financial Risk Manager exams.

Mirjam Vogl Project Manager

At Beceptum, Mirjam Vogl is responsible for strategic management and international business development. Mirjam has extensive experience in management consulting and, in previous roles, has worked on several international assignments.

Besides Beceptum, she has been a long-time partner at GJM Management Consulting, a strategic management consultancy which advises international clients, at board and senior management levels, in developing and executing long-term plans. Before that, she worked in marketing at German Fashion company Rena Lange and at ProSieben Networks.

Mirjam studied International Business and Economics in Munich with exchange semesters in London and Madrid. Born and raised in Germany, Mirjam is fluent in German and English and has basic knowledge of French and Spanish.

Christian Preussen Project Manager

Joining Beceptum at the beginning of 2020, Christian Preussen is a Project Manager in the fields of strategic consulting, project development, international development and stakeholder management.

He previously worked as a Regional Manager for a business association focused on the region of the Near and Middle East. Thereafter Christian joined a Berlin-based startup focusing on finance innovation.

Christian holds a Master of Letters in Management from the University of St. Andrews and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Politics from the University of Buckingham.

Gina-Maria Mojr Project Assistant

Currently studying at Technical University of Munich, Gina-Maria Mojr supports the team of Beceptum as project assistant in the fields of business development and research while also being responsible for accounting and administrative activities.

Before joining Beceptum she gained professional experience as Junior Showroom Manager for Maserati in Munich. In this position Gina-Maria focused on customer acquisition and care while being deeply involved in organization of events and marketing operations. Additionally, she was a management trainee at BTV, a full-service Austrian bank, headquartered in Innsbruck, where she gained insights in different fields of banking business.

Gina-Maria studies Management and Technology at Technical University of Munich, with focus on Computer Engineering and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
